From 1972 to 1996, the United States Navy had a small command of officers and enlisted personnel in and around Augsburg Germany. This site is dedicated to the men and women that, as most would agree, served their best duty here. Typically under 60 Navy personnel were surrounded by tens of thousands of Army and Air Force personnel. Life-long friendships started in Augsburg at Sheridan Kaserne and at Gablingen Kaserne, where most worked the odd 2-2-2 and 80. But it wasn't all work. Living in Bavaria gave us so much to do, whether you were single or accompanied by family. This video of the opening of one of Charlie Held's Bierfests is just an example.

This is a place for those former Sailors to reflect on those days and share some laughs, and hopefully reestablish some lost friendships.
